Long Distance Relationship Monthly Date Ideas

Spread the love

I love searching online for date ideas but many activities are for couples who are not in a long-distance relationship. Thus, I compiled a list of long distance relationship monthly date ideas to help you connect with your significant other.

How does it work? Create 12 different date ideas and mail the letters to your partner.

Long distance relationship date ideas for the months of January to May

Long Distance Relationship Monthly Date Ideas

  • January – Big Goals and Dreams
    • To begin, I know what you’re thinking, how lame! But it’s important to know what your partner really wants. Remember that you are their biggest support and this is the perfect time to learn about each other’s goals.
    • What do you hope to achieve this year?
    • How can you help them get there faster?
    • Focus on the following:
      • Fitness and health
      • Career
      • Relationships and life
      • Finance
      • Hobbies
  • February – Wine and Dine
    • Secondly, find an online recipe and then cook together in real-time.
    • During your video call, enjoy with a glass of wine.
  • March- Donate to a Charity
    • Each partner should look up a charity or social cause you are interested in.
    • Tell your partner about your selection and decide which organization both individuals can donate to. If you’re feeling good, why not donate to both!
    • For this month, find a charity or social cause that you care about and complete a quick research.
    • Share with your partner what you found and donate to the organization you like better.
    • If you’re in a good mood, you can donate to both charities!

  • April- Birthday Month
    • It’s my boyfriend’s birthday this month! To celebrate his birthday, both partners will buy a slice of cake or cupcake. Sing happy birthday and blow out the candle!
    • Also, have confetti in the envelope for an extra touch.
  • May – How Well Do You Know Your Partner?
    • Ask a  friend to compile a list of questions. I suggest they create a PowerPoint with a question per slide.
    • Before you begin, each person will need a whiteboard or blank paper
    • Referring to the PowerPoint, answer the first question in 30 seconds
    • On the count of 3, see if you and your partner have the same answer
    • At the end of each round, tally the score to see who has the highest amount!
Long distance relationship date ideas for the months of June to October
  • June – Q&A
    • Ask your partner deep questions and get to know them better! Moreover, you can search online for conversation starter questions and choose between different topics. This is one of my favourite long distance relationship monthly date ideas.
  • July – Games and Entertainment Gift Card
    • Giving gifts is always a great idea, so why not treat your significant other to their favourite online game. For instance, my boyfriend likes playing Apex, so in this month’s letter, there was a gift card for online points.
    • All in all, you can always try to play the same game or ask questions to learn more about it.
  • August – Walk and Talk
    • Go for a walk to your local coffee shop and call your partner. Catch up while enjoying your favourite hot drink. For instance, you can walk around your neighbourhood and enjoy the nature view. This can be a monthly long distance relationship date idea!

  • September – Truth or Drink
    • Inspired by this YouTube series, have a friend or family member create a list of Truth questions on a PowerPoint. I recommend having one question per slide. After that, the PowerPoint file can be shared online so both partners can have access.
    • However, based on your preference, you can request for easy or extreme questions. You and your partner can also add to the list  (don’t peak at the other questions!)
    • Each partner will take turns asking a question and if you decide you do not want to answer the question, take a shot of alcohol. As a result, hopefully you are not too drunk after the date 😉
  • October – Travel the World Using Google Map Satellite Street View
    • My boyfriend and I live in North America, so it’s freezing during the wintertime.  Why not escape for free and travel together virtually.
    • Subsequently, create a plan and talk about future trips. This will give you something to look forward to.
    • For example, some sample activities that you can try:
      • Ask them to show you where they lived when they were younger
      • Favourite places they have travelled to in the past
      • Show them places that you want to travel to
      • Also try, what are your favourite restaurants?
      • Look at the 7 World Wonders
  • November- Movie Marathon
    • Use Netflix party chrome extension to watch any Netflix movie in real-time with your partner.
    • Therefore, both parties have control and can pause/fast forward the video at any given time. Now it feels like you’re watching a movie together!

  • December – Working Out Together
    • Finally, create a workout routine for each other. We listed two options below.
    • Option one:
      • Create a workout routine for your partner.  Try focusing on a specific major muscle group.
    • Option two:
      • Find an online workout video and complete the workout together during your video call
